This includes key concepts on developing and conducting successful group and private lessons, communication, organization and group management skills using RSPA’s six-component framework. Professional members typically hold positions ranging from assistant pro to head tennis professional or director at racquet clubs and other sports facilities.

For established tennis professionals with significant experience and contributions to the sport, RSPA offers advanced certification levels that represent the pinnacle of teaching excellence:
This distinguished certification is designed for racquet sport professionals interested in taking their careers to the next level. Elite Professionals often serve in leadership roles at prestigious facilities and mentor developing coaches, such as positions ranging from Head Tennis Professional to Director of Tennis, Director of Racquet Sports, and more. This certification is available to all Professional (level 2) certified coaches and involves additional requirements for upgrading. It focuses on teaching/coaching all levels and ages, as well as facility operations and management.
Approximately 16-34 hours (actual completion time will vary based on the applicant’s effort and time commitment)
Master Professional applicants must have an Elite Professional rating for 10 years and have completed 80 hours of specialty courses.
Our highest recognition, Master Professional status, acknowledges exceptional career achievement, leadership, and innovation in tennis teaching. It is reserved for members who have demonstrated mastery of all aspects of tennis teaching and management, as well as achievements throughout their careers. Master Professional applications must include an electronic portfolio for review by the Master Professional Selection Committee.

Ramona Husaru is the Chief Development Officer of the RSPA, who oversees the tennis certification in collaboration with our area experts, and the first woman to hold a C-level role since its founding in 1927. With over 15 years of service, she leads learning and professional development, growth initiatives and strategic partnerships across all racquet sports. A former WTA-ranked player and two-time NCAA National Team Champion, Ramona brings elite experience and a passion for lifelong learning to her work. She holds a master’s in sport psychology and is pursuing a Ph.D. in performance psychology, helping athletes and coaches reach their full potential on and off the court.

For all public and private tennis facilities, companies, or people who have a full-time commitment to racquet sports in an executive, administrative, or commercial capacity. This membership must be listed in the corporation or club’s name. Corporate members receive all official RSPA communications, including Racquet Sports Industry magazine. Corporate members may not vote, hold office, compete in RSPA national or divisional tournaments, and are not covered by RSPA’s on-court liability insurance policy. Corporate members are listed in the RSPA Membership Directory and receive a booth discount at the RSPA Trade Show.
A corporate membership must be listed in the name of the company. The company shall not use the RSPA name or logo to imply company or product endorsement. Any club that applies for RSPA membership must assure the RSPA that admission into the club is open to all people regardless of race, color, age, creed, gender, national origin, religion, or physical handicap.
