For years, the Racquet Sports Professionals Association (RSPA) has been leading that charge in the United States, developing the most rigorous, respected and complete padel certification pathway in North America. But 2025 marks a new chapter for the RSPA and for the sport globally.
This past December, we achieved a milestone that will reshape the future of padel in the Asia-Pacific region: delivering the first-ever RSPA Padel Certification courses in Australia, across four major metropolitan markets (Melbourne, Sydney, Perth and Brisbane) and training over 65 new padel coaches under a standardized, world-class framework.
And even more importantly, this expansion took place in partnership with Padel Australia, the national federation. This moment is not just historic. It’s transformative.

The Four-City Tour: One Vision, Delivering Standards, Energy and Unity
Across all four cities, we encountered a consistent and powerful message: Australia is hungry for padel and expects excellence, professionalism, and standards. Coaches attended not just to learn drills, but to understand the deeper “why” of padel: movement patterns, tactical intelligence, learning progressions, safety standards, player psychology, and long-term development.
Each city brought its own character and hunger for growth:
- Melbourne: Professional, strategic, and deeply invested in building a long-term padel community. Coaches were eager not just to teach, but to lead.
- Sydney: Dynamic, energetic, and internationally minded. Coaches of multiple nationalities reflected the global diversity of the city.
- Perth: Rapidly growing with a tight-knit community. Exceptional enthusiasm for developing local talent pipelines.
- Brisbane: Strong appetite for innovation. Coaches demonstrated an entrepreneurial mindset essential for club ecosystems.
By the end of each course, one idea resonated clearly: To succeed in padel, you don’t just build courts, you build people. And you build businesses through hospitality, professionalism, and customer excellence.
Why the RSPA Curriculum Is the Catalyst for Global Growth
Padel is booming, but like every rapidly growing sport, it faces a fundamental challenge: Who is teaching the teachers with excellence? A country can build 1,000 courts, but without standardized coaching methodology, player experience becomes inconsistent, retention suffers, safety is compromised, clubs struggle to scale, and the sport loses momentum.
This is why I designed the RSPA Padel Curriculum, a comprehensive methodology built on decades of coaching, international leadership, and operational best practices. It is not a collection of drills, nor a high-intensity weekend workshop. It is a complete educational system covering:
