Their leadership strengthens programs, their visibility inspires athletes, and their presence helps create environments where girls and women can thrive. Within the racquet sports community, the RSPA is proud to highlight and support the women who make our industry stronger through their expertise, innovation, and dedication.
A cornerstone of this ongoing work is our partnership with Women Coaching Racquet Sports (WCRS), a nonprofit committed to helping women thrive in coaching roles across all racquet sports. WCRS offers mentorship, training, education, and a supportive network designed to encourage women to build long‑term, successful careers—especially in tennis.
This mission is more important than ever. Fifty years after Title IX, participation among girls and women in sports is at an all‑time high, yet the percentage of women coaching women has dropped dramatically—from over 90% in 1974 to just 44% today. Women coaches matter and their presence shapes the athletic experience in meaningful ways:
- They challenge outdated gender stereotypes.
- They serve as role models and visible proof of what’s possible.
- They inspire confidence, self‑worth and ambition.
- They bring lived experience and unique insight to female athletes.
- They strengthen organizations through diverse perspectives.
- They support the message: “See her; you can be her.”
